If one talent show doesn’t work out, there is always another.
Nikki Jensen — who was cut Tuesday night from AMERICA’S GOT TALENT for being unmemorable — says she may now try out for AMERICAN IDOL.
“I am hoping to get a call for the wild cars (show) and get a second chance to shwocase again,” she told reporters on a media call today.
“I would love that opportunity to really put my foot down and showcase myself in a more pure form as the kind of artist that I am. But other than that, if that doesn’t happen, I will just keep going. I will keep writing and keep gigging… Maybe get a support tour… Down the line I may even try out for something like IDOL. A lot of the fans that I did make from AMERICA’S GOT TALENT have suggested that I try out for IDOL.
You know, there are so many opportunities here to take. AMERICA’S GOT TALENT opened a lot of doors. It was an amazing experience.”
If Nikki does try to extend her 15 minutes of reality show fame, she may first want to tune up the act. All three judges had harsh comments after her performance in New York.
“I don’t think you did anything to be memorable,” Howard Stern said. ”Memorable is the key with singing. I think you need to do something to distinguish yourself.”
Howie Mandel agreed: “You have gotta be original. You’ve gotta be electric. There has to be more for (America) to say “You’re the best thing. You’re worth a million dollars.” You are new to this stage. I hope you continue to go on. But you are going to have to do a lot.”
And Sharon Osbourne said: ”I think your song selection has been great. It is your performance that is lacking. I need to feel emotion.”
What did you think of Nikki’s performance? Would you have put her through? How do you think she would do on another talent show?
