A backstage technical emergency nearly forced Silhouettes to abandon their finale performance Tuesday night.
Trouble started brewing moments before the kid dancers from Denver were about to perform for the $1 million prize.
“The main doors at the back of the stage weren’t opening and our lights were behind that,” Kelsie, one of Silhouettes 42 members, tells us. “Without our lights, we can’t do the show. The POPLYFE set was still on stage and all these technical issues were going on. We just didn’t think we weren’t gonna be able to do it.
“They almost said ‘You aren’t gonna be able to do it.’ So just the fact that those doors finally opened and we were able to pull it off was amazing.”
Luckily, everything worked out in the nick of time — and Silhouettes delivered another breathtaking and emotional performance.
