Twiggy the water skiing squirrel
We had heard all about Twiggy the waterskiing squirrel long before tonight’s episode ever aired.
Heck, he was just featured on Anderson Cooper‘s daytime talk show!
Was this to finally be the animal act that would rise above all others and take home the $1 million grand prize?
Not quite. But it was fun watching the talented little guy relieve himself on Nick Cannon’s shoulder.
The act was cute, but he was kind of a one trick rodent. And Howard made that point loud and clear.
The rest of the night was pretty uneventful. Among the acts making it through:
AMERICAN BMX STUNT TEAM, 20 -44 (BMX Riders)
This ten man team did some pretty amazing — and dangerous — tricks. They remind us a little of The Smage Brothers who made a run for the title last year. Howard Stern joked that he was a bit disappointed that no one got hurt on stage, but later applauded the riders: “You guys are truly the best that I have seen!”
LINDSEY NORTON, 16 (Gymnast/Dancer)
She’s 16, cute, and a great athlete. Howard gave her a standing ovation. But this act is more suited for a gymnastic contest than the Las Vegas strip — unless she goes to work for Cirque du Soleil.
THE UNTOUCHABLES, 8 – 13
These 20 or so young dancers include offspring from last year’s finalists, Miami All-Stars. Howard loved them. “You guys are totally captivating,” he said. “Your oldest is thirteen. Puberty is your enemy. I love your act.”
