Dani Shay hopes to land a role on "Glee"
Dani Shay is trying to win another talent competition.
The Florida folk-singer – who became a YouTube sensation by looking just like Justin Bieber – has auditioned to appear on season 2 of “The Glee Project.”
Dani submitted her audition video a few weeks ago. You can watch it here.
“I feel like I have what it takes to compete for a role on ‘Glee’ because it is my dream to inspire people and to bring hope to the world,” she says in the 5:44 clip. “We are raised on the ‘don’t get your hopes up’ motto, which is bullshit. And I want to bring hope to the world using art and stories and acting and singing.”
Contestants are also asked to describe the biggest obstacle they have faced in life – even if it is something they have never shared publicly before.

“Being totally honest with myself, and others of course,” she says. “From the time I was young, I always felt I had to hide certain things that were taking place to not destroy my family. I was raised as a Mormon, so it was quite challenging coming out to my Mormon parents. But even still in my current relationship, this need to hide or protect things still comes up. But I feel like I am becoming more and more honest every day.”
Several thousand people have signed up for a chance to snag a role on the popular FOX series. Auditions are now closed.
