Daniel Joseph Baker performs "Speechless" by Lady Gaga during Vegas Week
Daniel Joseph Baker has a message for all his critics: “I am going to Hollywood. Kiss my fat ass!”
Baker – the 20 year-old singer-pianist who blew us away with his audition cover of Lady Gaga‘s “Bad Romance” – was one of the final 17 acts chosen to move forward as “America’s Got Talent” wrapped up Vegas Week on Wednesday.
Other fan favorites making it through include singer Anna Graceman, magician Landon Swank and rappin’ kid trio Sh’Boss Boys.
In a pre-taped segment Baker, who is openly gay, discussed how important it is for him to succeed in the contest:
“When they told me I was going to Vegas, I was literally in shock,” he said. “I have been through so much bullying in my life and terrible things happening… My parents are the reasons why I made it. I wouldn’t have made it without them. I want to give the best performance I can because I want to call them and tell them that I am going to Hollywood and that everything they have done for me in my life has paid off. I don’t want to disappoint them.”
The Katy, Texas native fell to his knees and again welled up when Piers announced he was moving on to the next round.
