Howard Stern wants to see some real reality TV!
The AMERICA’S GOT TALENT judge has (jokingly?) inserted himself into the ugly feud between Sharon Osbourne and NBC — and vowed to confront his co-star on an upcoming live broadcast about her recent decision to quit the show.
“I am going to talk to her about it when I get on the show,” he revealed last week on his Sirius XM radio show. “I would say ‘Hey, Sharon, let’s talk about whether you are staying or going…this thing with Jack.”
“I think it would be compelling television,” he said.
“Talent” returns tonight for its first live show in three weeks.
In that time, Osbourne and her bosses have been at war over the network’s refusal to let son Jack participate in a new military reality series “Stars Earn Stripes.”
Stern, reading on the air from Osbourne’s exclusive bombshell interview with The New York Post, told listeners that “maybe they will work it out because I do enjoy working with Sharon, but it sounds like she’s really pissed off!”
Stern also suggested that the ratings-challenged talent show would benefit from giving him some additional screen time to talk about current events.
“Instead of some of those musical acts [and] guests I would rather sit there and talk to my fellow judges and Nick,” he said. “Give me a two or three minute window…when something is going on.”
But he concedes, “all they want me to do is judge.”
Prior to Osbourne’s public feud, the show’s longest seated judge admitted that she was not yet invited back for next season.
Stern — who is in his first year with the show — claims he was already asked to return, but hasn’t yet made up his mind.
