Sneak Preview: Acts Performing At New York Auditions

 

It’s time for week two of AMERICA’S GOT TALENT.  On Monday night the judges head to New York City in search of the next $1 million act.  Here’s a sneak preview of some of the contestants scheduled to perform on either Monday or Tuesday (per NBC):

Claudia Kolanovic, 16 (pianist/singer):
The sophomore from Glen Cove, New York was recently named winner of the second annual talent search sponsored by the Glen Cove Arts Council.  In a description posted on her YouTube page, Claudia writes: “I’m a 16 year old high school student who loves music sooo much! I play the piano and sing for family and friends all the time and I’d love the chance to perform for America. I hope you all enjoy watching my video! Thanksss!”

Mir Money, 7  (Rapper):
The second grader from Philadelphia thought this might be his big break.  Howard Stern thought differently.  Though his critiques have general been rather mild, the young boy broke down in tears, prompting Stern to rush up on stage and console him.  Per his official Facebook page: “Mir Money has been bobbin his head since he could sit up and been rappin since the age of 3yrs old.”

Lions Ambition (Band)
Lion’s Ambition is a six member hip-hop/rock band based in Seattle, WA.  According to their official Facebook page:  ”Lions Ambition’s sound incorporates soulful rock vocals with dynamic rhymes which theme around: ‘Following your dreams and Defying obstacles’”  The band list their influences as: Gym Class Heros, Linkin Park, The Roots, NERD, Kanye West, Talib Kweli, Incubus, Skillet

The Wanted Ashiqz (Dance Troupe)
They call themselves “New York’s premiere Bollywood and fusion dance troupe.” The Wanted Ashique placed second at World of Dance New York in May, 2011. Per their official website:
“Founded in 2003, the Wanted Ashiqz are an accomplished group of trained, all-male Bollywood dancers who seamlessly fuse Bollywood and hip-hop dance styles along with fearless humor and athletic ability to create spectacular displays of dance and entertainment. The troupe prides itself on its unique ability to merge the art of storytelling with intricate choreography from many different genres of dance. Under Artistic Director Ashif Gazi, the Wanted Ashiqz have been National Champions in the South Asian competitive dance circuit and are one of the most popular Bollywood dance troupes on the scene, performing at various corporate events, commercial shoots, concerts and weddings all over the United States.”
