Weekly Top 10: CMYKs Move Up, Tim Still On Top

Who will the judges pick as this year’s $1 million winner?

David Garibaldi and His CMYK’s move up to number 5 after an amazing performance last Monday.

The rock and roll artists replace American BMX Stunt Team (who we still think will return later in the season as a “wild card” act).

Our predictions are based on overall performance, diversity of the act, audience reaction, judges remarks, internet commentary, and how similar acts have fared in the past.  We have absolutely no knowledge of actual voting results.

(NOTE:  Last year we correctly predicted 4 of the top 5 acts — including the overall winner — before the first live show ever aired!)

Results will be updated each week.

RANKINGS FOR WEEK 2 (Performances through July 3, 2012)

PREVIOUS
WEEK
#1 TIM HOCKENBERRY  (Singer, 49)
Last Monday, Howard Stern confirmed what we had already told you: Tim is the clear frontrunner — at least in the singing category.  We still think he will go all the way.  Tim performs live for America’s voted on July 10.

#2 INSPIRE THE FIRE  (Song & Dance Group, 13 – 29)
Some commenters have said we ranked this act too high, but we are sticking by them for now.  If the “Glee” crowd votes, they are a contender.

2
#3 ANDREW DELEON  (Singer, 19)
He’s the most popular act who’s not even in the contest at the moment.  A petition to bring Andrew back as a “wild card” already has thousands of signatures.  We haven’t seen the last of him.

#4 EDON (Singer/Pianist, 12)
Edon hit it out of the park last week and even won over judge Howard Stern.  But he will need to figure out a way to rally more votes to stay on track for a spot in the finals.

#5 DAVID GARIBALDI & HIS CMYKs (Performance Artists)
These super-talented painters from Sacramento bring something we have never seen before on ‘AGT.’  Every time we think their act is going to get old, they come up with a surprising new twist.  Let’s give credit where it is due.

#6 TOM COTTER (Comedian, 48)
No comic has ever won ‘AGT’ — and Tom probably won’t be the first.  But the judges like him and that should help carry him into the Top 10.

5
#7 SPENCER HORSMAN (Illusionist/Escape Artist, 26)
Can’t wait to see how he cheats death next!
(Watch Spencer’s audition)
6
#8 JOE CASTILLO (Sand Artist, 54)
Watching Joe paint with sand is cool, but the way he tells stories is what really sells this act.  Some of his other performances on YouTube can be a bit slow and dark.  He will need to deliver more patriotic, feel good moments to stay in the race.

7
#9 UNTOUCHABLES (Dance Team, 8 – 13)
This group is mentored by last year’s finalists, Miami All Stars.  They have the potential to go even further.

9
#10 MARY JOYNER (Singer, 21)
We still feel strongly that Mary will be back, nerves in check, and ready to compete in August.
