Landau Eugene Murphy, Jr. holds on to his top spot as we have now seen 36 of the Top 48 acts perform. But there is still lots of talent to come.
Based on performances to date, here is how we think acts will rank when a champion is crowned in September.
Remember, our projections are based on overall performance, diversity of the act, audience reaction, judges remarks, internet commentary, and how similar acts have fared in the past. We have absolutely no knowledge of actual voting results.
Results will be updated each Thursday.

RANKINGS THROUGH 07/20/2011 Last week’s rankings

#1 LANDAU EUGENE MURPHY, JR. (Singer) Finally, something Piers and Howie can agree on. The West Virginia car washer blew America away on Tuesday (July 26) with his rendition of “Fly Me To The Moon.” “You have got the opportunity to go all the way,” Howie exclaimed. We still think there are only a few who can challenge him this season. Still our top pick. |

#2 ANNA GRACEMAN (Singer) She didn’t perform this week, but we still haven’t forgotten about her rendition of Louis Armstrong’s “What a Wonderful World”. Even rock superstar Avril Lavigne thinks 11 year-old Anna could go all the way! | 2 |

#3 DANIEL JOSEPH BAKER (Singer-Pianist) As we see more acts perform, we come to appreciate this exuberant college student from Houston. The only question now: What Gaga song will he cover next? A spot in our Final Four is his to lose. | 4 |

#4 POPLYFE (Band, ages 12 – 15) The more Piers keeps trying to convince singer Kehliani Parrish to ditch the band, the harder these these funky dressed teens rock! “A band has never won America’s Got Talent and she is a little rock star,” the stodgy judge points out. “But they are definitely ones to watch.” | 5 |

#5 SNAP BOOGIE (Dancer) Solo dancers have never done particularly well, but Snap may be an exception. He gave his best performance of the season in Hollywood while nursing a leg injury! “That performance could be in Vegas tomorrow,” Piers told him after. We agree. | 6 |

#6 LYS AGNES (Singer) Opera singers usually do well on ‘AGT’ (Jackie Evancho, Barbara Padilla), but this Denver retail worker didn’t come through as strong as we had hoped this week. Still, she has an amazing voice! |
3 |

#7 TEAM ILUMINATE (Light-up Dancers) There was a lot of buzz about this crew of professional dancers and their patented glow-in-the-dark technology. But they have kind of fallen off the radar since their audition 6 weeks ago. While we still think they can count on a Top 10 finish, Silhouettes may cut into their vote as their act is just as unique and doesn’t require batteries. |

#8 SILHOUETTES (Shadow Dancers) The group of 42 kids from Denver amazed — absolutely AMAZED — just about everyone with their patriot dance routine last week. Their act is fresh, original, and completely different from anything we have seen in years. The only question that remains: what can they possibly do to step it up even further? |
8 |

#9 MELISSA VILLASENOR (Comedian) Comedians have been doing terribly this season (J. Chris Newberg, Geechy Guy), so we are about worried about whether Melissa can muster up enough votes to make it much further. But then again, do you know anyone who can do better impressions of Kathy Griffin and Barbara Walters? | 9 |

#10 SCOTT ALEXANDER (Magician) With Landon Swank and Seth Grabel out of the competition, more magic fans will likely get into Scott’s corner. ‘AGT’ can’t have a Top 10 without at least one magician. (There’s a rule about that, right?)
